Summary:
Estradiol is the active ingredient (medicine) used in female hormone products that are put on the skin to reduce side effects caused by menopause. The purpose of this study is to determine if the female hormone gel or cream containing the same medicine placed on the skin of your legs will deliver the same amount of medicine through your skin and into your blood.
Screening visit (1-2 hours); Four 14 hour procedure days in a row; Washout period of at least one week (no procedures done); Four 14 hour procedure days in a row; No overnight stays
Qualified Participants Must:
Must be between 45-65 years old
Must be postmenopausal 12 months or more of not having a menstrual period
Must be a non-tobacco/nicotine user
Must be not using medications/alternative treatments/natural products for menopausal symptoms within the last 30 days or during study
Must not have a BMI greater than or equal to 30 kg/m2
Must not have history of diabetes
Qualified Participants May Receive:
Payment in the form of checks of $1,430 for completion of all procedure days; Parking vouchers and bus tokens for transportation after screening and each procedure day; Meals and snacks provided during your stay
