Clinical Trial 55187

New York, NY 10032

Summary:

Lupus - Multiple Locations in the US

Have you or a loved one been diagnosed with lupus, including systemic lupus erythematosus or discoid lupus erythematosus?

Medical Condition:
Systemic lupus erythematosus, subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus, and discoid lupus erythematosus

Study Summary:
Clinical research studies for adults 18 to 75 years of age with systemic lupus erythematosus, subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus, or discoid lupus erythematosus

Study Purpose:
The purpose of these clinical research studies is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of investigational study treatments in adults with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SCLE), or discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE). A study treatment is an investigational medication that has not been approved by regulatory health agencies, such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States. The studies are evaluating if certain study treatments may improve conditions for those living with lupus. The study treatments will be administered as oral tablets, intravenous (IV) infusions, or subcutaneous (SC) injections and compared to a placebo, which looks like the study treatment but does not contain any active ingredients.

All participants who qualify for a clinical study will receive all study-related exams and study-related laboratory tests at no cost. Reimbursement for travel and other out-of-pocket expenses will be available in addition to possible compensation for time. If a clinical study includes a placebo, neither the participant nor the study doctor will know which treatment the participant has been assigned to receive, but in case of emergency, the study doctor can quickly find out.

Eligibility Criteria:
Eligible participants must:

 • Be between 18 and 75 years of age, inclusive
 • Have a diagnosis of SLE, SCLE, or DLE before screening
 • Be using at least 1 background SLE treatment/therapy (SLE patients only)
 • Be receiving treatment with a stable regimen of at least an oral corticosteroid, and/or an antimalarial, and/or an immunosuppressant (SCLE/DLE patients only)

Other study-specific inclusion and exclusion criteria may apply.

Clinical trials are medical research studies designed to test the safety and/or effectiveness of new investigational drugs, devices, or treatments in humans. These studies are conducted worldwide for a range of conditions and illnesses. Learn more about clinical research and participating in a study at About Clinical Trials.
